The Leapfrog Group
The Leapfrog Group is a voluntary program founded in 1998 by businesses in the US to discuss how they could work together to influence quality and affordability of the healthcare they purchased. They soon sought to recognize improvements in the healthcare industry for safety, quality and customer value. The founders realized that they could take ‘leaps' forward with their employees, retirees and families by rewarding hospitals that implement significant improvements in quality and safety.
Palmetto Health hospitals submit data annually through a Leapfrog survery and results are posted on their website.
