How large is the Palmetto Health medical staff?
Palmetto Health is a large system made up of five outstanding hospitals — Palmetto Health Richland, Palmetto Health Baptist, Palmetto Health Heart Hospital, and Palmetto Health Children's Hospital in Columbia and, in a joint venture with Greenville Hospital System, Baptist Easley Hospital in Pickens County. Our Palmetto Health Richland staff includes 892 physicians and our Palmetto Health Baptist staff includes 694 physicians.
What types of inpatient responsibilities are required?
Specialists, of course, follow their patients through the continuum of care. Our primary care physicians are dedicated to seeing the patients through their continuum of care and may choose to provide their own inpatient care or use our hospitalist practices, Hospital Internal Medicine or Baptist Inpatient Medical Associates.
